moving day!
for the past 7 weeks, tayte has been living in one of the guest houses that’s about a 20-minute walk away from the institute. here’s what it looked like:

living room
/bedroom
/kitchen
when i got there, he had pushed the two beds together, put that table against the right wall, and moved that clear shelving thing into the bathroom.
so resourceful!!

kitchen
those doors on the right open for closet space. and the right white cabinet door is the fridge. the light tan door in the back right is the front door, and just to the left of it is…

the bathroom
please note where the showerhead is.
also the shower curtain only covered about 1/3 of the shower.
i wish i was joking about that.
it was a good place, and some of the other byu students lived in his building. it wasn’t too bad of a walk to the institute and the city center wasn’t too far away.
buuuuuuuut.
here’s the new place (the other guest house).

living room area
i’m currently sitting at that computer.

bedroom area

kitchen-esque area
we don’t actually have our own kitchen. there’s one across the hall that everyone on this floor shares. but we do have a little fridge.

bathroom
that shower is amazing.
that isn’t an exaggeration.

view from our window
we do have a balcony-type thing, but we don’t have an actual door that opens to it, but tayte says that we can just climb out the window.

the best part
that building is the institute.
it’s literally a 5 minute walk for tayte (if that).
all he has to do is walk down 4 flights of stairs and out a door, then he’s on that little pathway on the left
i lived at the other place for maybe 5 days, and even i love this place. it really is so much nicer than the other place, and there is a lot more room. this feels more like a vacation.
i sit here at the computer, blogging or planning our next trips, with all the windows open, feeling the breeze that comes through and occasionally looking out at the awesome view. this is heaven. especially when i see that cute husband of mine walking home to see me.
and that cute husband has been on cloud 9 ever since we walked into this apartment yesterday morning. he is obsessed with open spaces, and he just loves how open and light this apartment is. he is so happy and relieved that he’s so much closer to work.
we might just stay here forever.
