- last fhe with the ward
- every monday, the byu interns, the branch president and his wife, the elders, and 2 or 3 of the young single adults from the ward meet for fhe. and every monday, tayte and i were just a few minutes late because we had to get dinner from this place:
this is a bratwurst truck.
we obviously never died from it {yet} so it’s fairly sanitary.
- dinner/game night with all the interns
- watched the last episode of band of brothers
- every wednesday, some of the interns met in a library at the institute, and watched this hbo series called band of brothers.
- went to town and bought some souvenirs
- picked up some groceries at netto for the last time
- anytime we went out and did anything (fhe, climbing…), netto would be on the way home. so we stopped here multiple times a week.
- shipped a bunch of stuff home that we didn’t want to carry around for the next couple weeks
- tenery went to buchenwald by herself
- i won’t post about this, for two reasons. 1, tayte already did and 2, i didn’t take any pictures.
- travel tip: the bus takes you all the way to the camp. like to the entrance. so don’t get off the dang bus until you see the entrance. otherwise you’ll be stuck in the woods for a half hour, trying to not get hit by the passing cars.
- went climbing for the last time
- every thursday, we met justin at a bouldering gym called “plan b” and climbed for a couple hours. and every thursday, we stopped at this little place on the way and got dinner
- got some spaghetti ice cream
- had a bbq at the institute
- got some schnitzel one last time
- went to wartburg castle
- tayte had already been, and we had one more day on our germany rail passes. it was a toss up between wartburg and some other places, but wartburg won. this was the castle that inspired ludwig to build neuschwanstein.
- frantically packed everything into our backpacks
- went to church one last time
- got on a train for paris
